Harmful algal blooms (HABs) can have serious impacts on both ecosystem services and human health, and several mitigation techniques have been developed to control them.

A small-scale laboratory study was designed and conducted to test the effectiveness of ultrasonic
treatment as an algae control mechanism. In this study, algae were cultured in an environmental growth
chamber and then subjected to ultrasonic treatment in a controlled lab setting.
